Nordic furniture tradition lasts

Nordic furniture tradition is based on timeless design created in strong and durable materials, sourced close to where the furniture is produced. It is also a legacy of craftsmanship where each product that leaves the factories not only carries its history, but also creates new stories for each new place it ends up - again and again.

Nordic furniture tradition also represents a deeper meaning - not only in the choice of materials or aesthetics, but also in how the furniture contributes to environments where people thrive and grow. This is where we are part of the tradition - we create functional, developing and inspiring environments that last over time, both physically and visually, with great respect for the functioning of the whole.

Being part of the Nordic furniture tradition makes us constantly inspired and extremely proud - because it's a tradition that lasts!

CARL HANSEN & SON
A PIECE OF NORDIC FURNITURE TRADITION

On Funen, in the heart of Denmark, the oak trees and the roots of tradition run deep. Here, since 1908, Carl Hansen & Søn has woven together the soul of craftsmanship with timeless design. In this family business - passed down from father to son to grandson - every cut and every sanding has been a tribute to Danish furniture craftsmanship.

During the 60s and 70s when Ella Hansen took over the company after her husband passed away, she raised Carl Hansen & Søn to what it is today. They continue to design furniture with great respect for the materials they use, constantly reminding us that the best things in life are the ones that last the longest - the ones that are passed down from generation to generation, telling the story of a time that was, a time that is, and a time to come.
