A modern and international cinema in the heart of Stockholm where the classic movie experience meets food and drink - what a vision!

It has been ready for some time and invites you in with the smell of the original art deco cinema. Welcome to the table, let the show begin!

  • Sankt Eriksgatan 82
    Stockholm

  • Custom-made furnishings, furniture delivery, coordination & assembly

The bar is created from different types of exclusive natural materials such as solid wood, stone and brass to create an environment that is sustainable over time and ages beautifully with its visitors.

Background

Behind this magical project are film distributor NonStop Entertainment and Njutafilms. It all started when they got wind of the old premises on Sankt Ericsplan and ran a crowdfunding campaign that became a success.

The Capitol Cinema was built in 1926 by master builder John Bergendahl. Over the years, it has changed its name twice and was closed as a cinema in 1985. In 2018 it was reopened with a scent of the original cinema's art deco.

The final result

The new Capitol cinema has become a place for a more "grown-up" movie experience, where you can get drinks and light snacks in the lounge, or have a more substantial meal before or after the movie in the bistro.

Bio Capitol's interior design concept was created by Tengbom Arkitekter. Senab has delivered furnishings and furniture, including special furnishings and fixed furnishings, and was responsible for coordination and assembly.
