When the goal was to create a new office to look forward to, the pandemic could not have come at a worse time. Perhaps the only good thing about it was that the longing became even stronger among Länsförsäkringar Jämtland's employees. Despite difficult deliveries and complicating circumstances, the whole thing was a shining example of how the choice of supplier can make a big difference.

Background

On Prästgatan in central Östersund there is a large glazed building where Länsförsäkringar Jämtland has a total of five floors. Here they wanted to create a flexible workplace with better ergonomics that lived up to the project's vision of creating an environment to look forward to. In total, the project included about 90 workplaces that were to be furnished in a well-thought-out, comfortable and sustainable work environment.

The challenge

The new interior design concept would allow Länsförsäkringar to move from traditional and fixed workplaces to a new and more flexible way of working. A change that is sometimes met with some suspicion. The sustainability requirements of the project were high and as much as possible of the existing furnishings could therefore be reused. In the middle of the work, the pandemic struck and radically changed the conditions for all suppliers. Logistics became a challenge and transportation was delayed.

The final result

The result was an interior design concept based on an activity-based approach - an inviting and stylish five-storey office with plenty of space for both joy and calm. It mixed custom-designed solutions with recycled products. By reupholstering chairs and replacing worn-out chair bases, many were retained, even some table screens were given a new lease of life. Each floor was also given its own name. The Square, the City, the Lake, the Forest and the Mountain - each with a different feel and completely adapted to function and task. With natural colors, pleasant and exciting impressions were created.

Senab's task was to deliver all new workplaces, coordinate logistics and, last but not least, install all loose furniture for workplaces, open meeting areas and meeting rooms. The furniture came from suppliers such as Edsbyn, Götessons, Johanson Design and Trece. Reform Arkitekter was responsible for the interesting concept. The cooperation between all parties worked well thanks to good communication and high quality thinking - from procurement and idea to product selection and assembly.
