&hotel

Just because the space is limited doesn't mean the ambitions are. The keywords for this cozy hotel in the heart of Stockholm are high quality and timelessness. So when we got the chance, we took them at their word.

  • Apelbergsgatan 40
    Stockholm

  • Special furnishings for hotel rooms, lobby and Bar Sophie

Background

&hotel is located on a small side street of Hötorget in the center of Stockholm. A genuine city hotel in the best location. With a hotel concept adapted to urbanization, where the inner city is becoming more crowded and spaces are becoming fewer. The rooms are space-efficient, with smart functional solutions and materials of the highest quality. The hotel is also environmentally certified by Green Key.

Challenge

When every room is compact but you still want to offer generosity. And the feeling should not be small, but on the contrary large. That's the challenge. The assignment to Millimeter Arkitekter was that the interior should be of high quality in materials with a modern but timeless character. It was also important that the interior would radiate warmth, so the architects worked a lot with the cozy factor in the hotel's lounge. This was the goal we had to realize.

The final result

The rooms at the &hotel are high quality but small. Nevertheless, they contain almost everything a guest would want: a great bed and a fresh shower room. Facilities such as an electric kettle, iron and safe are housed in smart drawers that pull out from under the bed. There is also space for luggage. The wardrobe has been spared, replaced by a smart wardrobe panel.

The idea is for guests to hang out in the cozy lounge, where there is room for work, meetings and socializing. Or have a drink in the spacious bar next door. Smart interior design features include high bar tables with centralized lighting. The tables consist of a circular ramp with recesses all around to allow you to stand or sit with a laptop.

Senab's role was to be responsible for the entire hotel interior, both the hotel rooms and the public areas. The assignment also included procurement of all fixed and loose furnishings.
