As one of Sweden's major pension and insurance companies and a leading-edge bank, Skandia probably needs no further introduction. But how many people have visited their new office in Sundsvall?

Background

In connection with a new lease agreement, Skandia in Sundsvall was facing an extensive renovation of the premises. Over the years, they had also created a messy environment by collecting several different types of wood and furniture from Skandia's head office.

The vision for the new workplace was to create a coherent and comfortable environment in a modern and flexible office with a variety of meeting places - especially equipped for the unpredictable challenges of the future, with shifting changes and densification of office space as needed.

- I experience Senab as a very committed and informed partner down to the smallest detail, who throughout the journey has been responsive to our various wishes.

Challenges

The biggest challenge was to carry out the renovation and furniture replacement while maintaining full business as usual for the approximately 250 employees. This places great demands on functioning deliveries, logistics and understanding employees who constantly need to be moved around.

In total, 6000 square meters were to be renovated in a three-stage rocket together with interior design and furniture during 2017-2019. Long overall projects are extra challenging for all parties as a lot can happen during the project while there are high expectations from many people involved.

The final result

In a long and close collaboration with the client, Senab created a modern and flexible office, from the first sketches to the installation of the last lamp.

Skandia's new workplace uses the colors of nature and consists mainly of Nordic materials, with each floor having its own color scheme. There are now many areas, rooms and meeting places for different everyday needs.
