K-labeled

In close collaboration between K-märkt's team and Senab's interior designers Hanna Öhman and Karen Holmgren, an environment was created where every detail carries a thought. Senab was responsible for the entire process - from concept and budget to project management, delivery and installation.

When planning the catering for Senab's annual Design Walk for 2025, we were looking for more than just good food - we were looking for a restaurant that shared our vision for the future. It was the start of a new relationship with K-märkt, where shared values around sustainability, quality and conscious choices quickly moved the conversation on - from food to furniture.

It soon became clear that we shared more than just ambition. Sustainability is a central part for both companies. Where K-märkt utilizes raw materials that would otherwise go to waste, we at Senab guide our customers towards interior design solutions that last over time - both in expression and function. Both organizations are driven by a desire to take care of what already exists, and to create with consideration for both people and the environment.

K-märkt was an easy choice for us as the supplier of all catering during the Senab Design Walk. In parallel with the discussions about catering, it turned out that they were about to open a new lunch restaurant in the newly built Separatorn building in Flemingsberg - a building with a characteristic round corner and an architecture that placed high demands on the interior. By listening to their needs, communicating our way of working and showing how we take responsibility at every stage, we won the trust to take on the entire interior design assignment.

The interior is designed by Brunnberg & Forshed, with a color scheme inspired by the sky's reflections in the building's stainless steel facade. The blue color scale runs like a red thread through the dining room and stairwell, where the curves of the facade are interpreted in the shapes of serving counters, curtains and panels. Upstairs, the visitor is greeted by a warmer color palette with touches of red, pink and dark wood. In the chambre séparée, an unexpected colorful contrast awaits those looking for something out of the ordinary.

"At K-märkt, we're good at cooking - that's our thing. If you're going to run a restaurant, you also need to know about service and good drinks, of course. You also need to be a master of the perfect espresso. Being able to wash dishes is super important and no restaurant without freshly baked bread. There are many things you need to know.

And the environment? Just as important - but far from our expertise. That's why it felt safe to hold Senab's hand all the way, from drawing to finished assembly. Thank you for that!"

- Jens Dolk, CEO K-marked

The furniture choices are characterized by Swedish design with history. For example, Fanett - the classic stick chair from 1956, now back in production at Edsbyn - has been given new life in this environment. The fact that the furniture is largely made in Sweden is something that both K-märkt and Senab cherish: choosing closely, consciously and long-term.

For K-label, sustainability is about more than food. It is just as much about social and economic responsibility - creating a safe and sustainable working environment for employees, a good everyday life for guests and a robust foundation for the business. A well-executed sustainability program, just like a real slow cooker, requires time, presence and commitment.

"It's fun to work on projects where everyone wants to go in the same direction - in the dialog, the details and the interaction. Being involved in creating an environment that both feels and works is what we are passionate about."

- Malin Jonasson, Project Manager at Senab

The final result

The result is a restaurant that carries its idea in every detail - from color scheme to furniture selection. A place where aesthetics and function meet, where reuse and new production coexist, and where both Senab and K-märkt can be what we are best at: guiding, conscious and tasteful.

The furnishings we supplied are also screened with our SSR method - a way for us to understand and ensure how our suppliers work with sustainability.

And the outcome of Senab Design Walk 2025? We couldn't have wished for a better response from our guests. A clear 10 out of 10 - for the food, the exhibition and the meeting.
