Background
Embark Studios is a newly launched game studio in Stockholm. The head office is located in Södra Bankohuset in Gamla Stan, a building originally constructed for the Bank of the Estates of the Realm, later Sveriges Riksbank, in the mid-1670s. Since then, the building has set the tone for Stockholm.
Challenge
Södra Bankohuset is a listed building, which means that any changes require special permission. For the interior of the premises, this means that nothing can be screwed into the walls and that all furniture must be floor-standing. As the studio is growing rapidly, the furniture needs to be easily moved to make room for new employees. It was a real challenge for us to develop a furniture concept for workplaces, meeting rooms, lounges and dining rooms.
The final result
Together with Embark Studio, Senab has developed a complete furniture concept and furnished three floors and parts of the entrance floor. The color scheme is adapted to Embark Studio's stated desire for a pleasant, welcoming and comfortable office with decorative lighting and lots of plants. Senab has delivered carpets to all rooms to improve the acoustics and give the generous rooms a more cozy impression. To reduce electricity costs and protect the environment, a supplier was hired to replace the existing fluorescent lights with a dimmable LED fixture.
