The vision was a cozy neighborhood restaurant. The ambition was bigger. The result was a high-quality bistro with 45 seats where sustainability and quality are the focus.

Background

Tegnérgatan in central Stockholm has become a row of restaurants. So it was natural for the trio of restaurateurs Filippa Dahlberg, Cooper Palmer and Oskar Karlsson to open a restaurant reminiscent of the continent. With experience from the city's finest restaurants, they opened Restaurang Hasselbo in November 2019.

"Senab was an indispensable partner in the design of Restaurant Hasselbo. They really understood our design and helped us both refine our ideas and inspire us. We are so grateful to Senab."

-Cooper Palme

Challenge

The ambition was to create a high-quality bistro with the vision of a cozy neighborhood restaurant. Since the start, they have had a clear picture of both design and product selection and they themselves have been highly involved in the renovation. The challenge of the project was to create a timeless character with soft lines and just the right amount of contrast in a very limited space.

The final result

Millimeter Arkitekter has created floor plans that we Senab, together with the client, used to create interior drawings and lift the concept and thus the vision to new heights. The result is a comprehensive solution with 45 seats created together with Filippa, Cooper and Martina Wallenberg. Priority has been given to quality through sustainable material choices and design classics that are abundant in the restaurant's interior design. In the neighborhood restaurant, elegant wooden furniture stands on a sober wooden floor with plenty of free space. The lacquered stick chairs and light leather details create soft contrasts in the interior.

All tables in the room, the bar and the sofas are custom made and designed by Senab based on the client's vision. The luminaires are vintage products to fit in with the concept, but also because sustainability was an important factor during the work and for the restaurant. In addition, Senab, together with the customer, also designed and delivered the bathrooms.
