Comfortable and functional at Afry
When AFRY in Jönköping wanted to develop its staff and lunch areas, it was about more than just updating the furniture. The ambition was to create an environment that better reflects the company's identity—sustainable, pleasant, and functional—and that strengthens the community in everyday life.

Textiles in warm tones, furniture with soft shapes, reuse repainting and foiling
Total approx. XXX sqm
The premises had good conditions with space and generous daylight. Now they needed a clearer structure and a more cohesive feel. At the same time, there was a clear ambition to develop what already existed and update the expression in a way that would stand the test of time.
Here there is room for breaks,
conversations, and community.
AFRY is an international engineering, design, and consulting company with sustainability at the heart of its business. The new environment therefore needed to combine functionality, aesthetics, and responsibility—while making the most of what was already there.
The challenge was to create a warm and welcoming environment with distinct areas for breaks, conversations, and socializing, without compromising efficiency in terms of flow and usage.
“The environment feels pleasant and modern. We are particularly pleased to have incorporated good reuse solutions reuse the project. For example, we repainted meeting room tables and laminated surfaces that needed updating instead of buying new ones.”
— Liselott Sporring, Project Manager at Afry
Structure that lasts over time
We were tasked with developing the environment and chose furniture that combines comfort, quality, and soft shapes. The interior design was created to create rooms within rooms—places that support both recovery and meetings.
Textiles in warm tones and carefully considered material choices reinforce the harmonious feel. Natural light is utilized and contributes to a calm atmosphere where form and function come together in a natural way.
Reuse an important part of the work. Existing meeting room tables were repainted and surfaces that needed updating were covered with foil instead of being replaced. This saved resources and extended the life of the furniture without compromising the overall impression.
An environment that reflects values
Today, employees and visitors are greeted by a pleasant and modern environment that clearly reflects AFRY's values. By combining new elements with thoughtful reuse , the staff areas reuse given a look that is both contemporary and sustainable in the long term.
